Sztuka konceptualna w Polsce | Conceptual Art in Poland

Sympozjum naukowe "Sztuka konceptualna w Polsce", organizowane przez Fokus Łódź Biennale, przy współpracy Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi, jest już za nami. Wygłoszone zostało wiele interesujących wykładów, przypomniano najważniejsze postaci i grupy artystyczne związane z tym nurtem. Żywo dyskutowano też o tworzeniu sztuki w warunkach PRL'u.

The symposium "Conceptual Art in Poland", organized by Fokus Łódź Biennale in partnership with Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź is already behind us. Many interesting lectures were given and the most important conceptual artists and artistic groups were recollected. People lively discussed the issue of creating art in the "communistic times" in Poland.

Arthur Zalewski

23 czerwca do Łodzi przyjechał Arthur Zalewski, który wspólnie z Clemensem von Wedemeyerem przygotowuje projekt na Fokus Łódź Biennale. W poszukiwaniu inspiracji i materiałów Zalewski udał się do Archiwum Muzeum Kinematografii.

June 23rd Arthur Zalewski, an artist preparing a project for Fokus Lodz Biennale together with Clemens von Wedemeyer, came to Lodz. In search for inspiration and materials he visited the Archive of the Museum of Cinematography.

Trevor Morgan

W tym tygodniu w Łodzi materiał do swojej pracy video kręcił Trevor Morgan. Tym razem miał więcej szczęścia, jeśli chodzi o pogodę i udało mu się zrobić wszystko, co zaplanował. Efekty zobaczymy już w sierpniu, w czasie trwania zbiorowego projektu Archeologia Piotrkowskiej.

This week Trevor Morgan was working on his video project in Łódź. This time he had better luck with the weather and he managed to finnish everything that he planned. We'll be able to see the results of his work in August, during the "Archeology of Piotrkowska Street" joint exhibition.

Gareth Kennedy

22 czerwca odwiedził nas Gareth Kennedy. Fabryka, którą widać na zdjęciu, stała się inspiracją dla duetu Kennedy Browne. Projekt, który zobaczymy we wrześniu, będzie poruszał temat pracy i migracji wielkiego międzynarodowego kapitału.

Gareth Kennedy visited us on Tuesday, June 22nd. The factory in the picture became an inspiration for the Kennedy Brown duet. The project, which we are going to see in September, will raise the issue of labour and the migration of international capital.
